This breed is otherwise known as the black sex link chicken, which means that they can be sexed by their color at birth.  They are made by crossing a barred rock hen with a rhode island rooster-the subsequent chicks then are black if female, and look like a barred rock if a rooster. Your one little chick looks like a barred rock, and is definitely a rooster.</description>
